Power Twitter Business Building Tactics Part 3
Part 3
In parts 1 and 2 we went over applications that enhance the Twitter experience from a business building perspective.
Part 1: Adding pictures to your posts
Part 2: URL management from shortener to tracking
In part 3 I would like to talk about the aspects of building a targeted Twitter following. This by far the #1 key element of a utilizing Twitter as a business building tactic.
Understanding your audience (target market) is essential as a product creator/owner. Understanding the needs and wants of your target market helps you to define who they are and where you can find them.
There are software tools that have been devised to help you find your target audience on Twitter. One such tool is an application called Hummingbird 2. Hummingbird 2 provides the key elements in reaching your target audience, communicating with them effectively and manages more than one account.
Here are a few key features of Hummingbird 2:
- Keyword Targeting
- Add Photos
- Add Links
- Tracks Click-throughs
- Analyze details and helps to improve your marketing campaigns
- Tracks Follows and Unfollows
- Reporting
- Supports PC, MAC and Linux
It totes a price tag of $97
I am not here to just sell you stuff. Though honestly, I would not mind making a little affiliate money from my efforts but my main purpose is to educate. A part of the education process is providing choices. Ah yes, Hummingbird 2 is not your only choice.
If you find for what ever reason that Hummingbird 2 is not for you, I am going to offer you a couple more potential solutions.
The second solution I want to discuss is more time consuming but more expensive in the long run. We all know that money is directly related to our time. Our time has value and should always be considered as a factor in the equation. My second solution is to manually build your targeted following.
Here are my suggestions for doing that but before I continue I am going to make the assumption that you have a crystal clear vision of who your target audience is and an understanding of their needs, wants and desires.
With that out of the way I am going to turn you on to http://search.twitter.com which is a free to use search for finding people to follow in your targeted niche. Finding or “operators” can be of grave use in narrowing down your search.
To provide you more information about the “operators” you can go to: http://search.twitter.com/operators
